December Impact Story

For over 30 years, Mike has enjoyed the facilities, family-friendly atmosphere, and lasting friendships he’s found at the YMCA. The Y is also the place where his casual interest in table tennis grew into a passion, when an experienced player at the Y shared his competitive skills and inspired Mike to take his game to the next level.

Mike and others’ generosity and passion for table tennis helped the Y develop a thriving community of players and secure a permanent racquetball court space for the sport.  Mike has even competed in the Senior Olympics and in national tournaments, consistently bringing home medals and first-place trophies from each!

Mike credits the Y for providing the space, support, and connections that made his success possible. "Without the Y, I never would have achieved what I have." Congratulations!
