New Youth Mental Health First Aid Certification
Manitowoc-Two Rivers YMCA Announces New Youth Mental Health First Aid Certification
The Manitowoc-Two Rivers YMCA is proud to share that Lisa Nething, our Youth and Family Program Lead, has officially completed her Youth Mental Health First Aid certification.
This training equips caring adults with the skills to recognize signs of mental health challenges in young people, respond with confidence, and connect kids to the support they need. At a time when youth mental and emotional well-being is more important than ever, Lisa’s commitment reflects the Y’s ongoing promise to show up for kids in every way we can.
“Lisa brings warmth, energy, and incredible dedication to the children we serve,” said YMCA CEO Julie Grossman. “Her new certification strengthens our ability to create safe spaces, teach resilience, and help every child feel seen and supported.”
Youth Mental Health First Aid training covers topics such as common mental health concerns, how to respond in crisis situations, and how to encourage healthy coping strategies. By adding this training to her already strong skill set, Lisa deepens the Y’s capacity to care for children across our youth and family programming.
Please join us in congratulating Lisa on this achievement. Her dedication strengthens our mission and makes a meaningful difference in the lives of the young people who walk through our doors every day.
